WHAT IS THE NRA RATING SYSTEM:
NEW: means new from an authorized dealer.
AS NEW: appears new in every way but is NOT from an authorized dealer and
may have been fired.
EXCELLENT: Looks new from a distance but up close may have minor marks
in the finish
on both the stock, action, and metal finishes. Bore will be sharp and clean.
VERY GOOD: Definitely used, solid stock, finish may be worn faded or chipped,
metal finish will generally be faded and often worn around the muzzle, BORE:
lands will be somewhat rounded perhaps with some minor pitting.
GOOD: Many marks on stock and metal, not much finish remaining, lands rounded,
bore may be pitted crown may have minor nicks and chips, stock may have minor
chips and cracks.
FAIR: Gun is mostly there, finish is pretty much gone, plenty of rust and pitting to
go around inside and out, bore is rough and dark.
POOR: Not in firing condition, action may not open, function, or fire, usually
possible to see something through the bore with a very bright light, may come
complete with a variety of bugs and other debris in various interior crevices,
rusty from one end to the other, stock usually cracked, loose and parts normally
attendant will be missing in action.

WHAT IS THE NRA RATING SYSTEM:
NEW: means new from an authorized dealer.
AS NEW: appears new in every way but is NOT from an authorized dealer and
may have been fired.
EXCELLENT: Looks new from a distance but up close may have minor marks
in the finish
on both the stock, action, and metal finishes. Bore will be sharp and clean.
VERY GOOD: Definitely used, solid stock, finish may be worn faded or chipped,
metal finish will generally be faded and often worn around the muzzle, BORE:
lands will be somewhat rounded perhaps with some minor pitting.
GOOD: Many marks on stock and metal, not much finish remaining, lands rounded,
bore may be pitted crown may have minor nicks and chips, stock may have minor
chips and cracks.
FAIR: Gun is mostly there, finish is pretty much gone, plenty of rust and pitting to
go around inside and out, bore is rough and dark.
POOR: Not in firing condition, action may not open, function, or fire, usually
possible to see something through the bore with a very bright light, may come
complete with a variety of bugs and other debris in various interior crevices,
rusty from one end to the other, stock usually cracked, loose and parts normally
attendant will be missing in action.
